Walking Dead – Season 4, Episode 2 “Infected”

Yelling at your television? So were we. Many delicate moments in this week’s episode. The fates of our prison residents depend on the critical decisions made, and actions taken during wrenching moments of emotional distress.

Walking Dead – Season 4, Episode 1 “30 Days Without an Accident”

Residents of the Prison have settled into their daily roles: gardening, raising livestock, preparing meals, cultivating meaningful relationships with members old and new. It’s as idyllic as a corner can get in this post-zombie-apocalyptic landscape…

But it wouldn’t be a compelling narrative if pastoral serenity were to continue indefinitely, now would it? Ratings would plummet. No, we need something dangerous and life-threatening! People need to die. Walkers need slashing. Leaders need to be challenged.

And I guess that’s what’s keeping Glenn awake:

Glenn can't sleep because he knows that the Season 4 Premiere of The Walking Dead cannot be without some zombie-slashing action and the death of a friend or three.

Tonight 9pm on PBS: Jake Shimabukuru in Life on Four Strings

image

From the website:

Jake Shimabukuro: Life on Four Strings is a compelling portrait of an inspiring and inventive musician whose virtuoso skills on the ukulele have transformed all previous notions of the instrument’s potential. Through intimate conversations with Shimabukuro (she-ma-BOO-koo-row), Life on Four Strings reveals the cultural and personal influences that have shaped the man and the musician. On the road from Los Angeles to New York to Japan, the film captures the solitary life on tour: the exhilaration of performance, the wonder of newfound fame, the loneliness of separation from home and family.

Kal Penn to host Discovery’s Big Brain Theory: Pure Genius

The heart and soul of most reality shows is to showcase the drama surrounding the lives of its cast members. The only objective is to entertain. Each episode results in a micro-denouement, often with a contestant eliminated and the promise of more drama the following week.

With the upcoming Big Brain Theory: Pure Genius, we will probably get all of the above, and more. Discovery’s upcoming show will reacquaint us with what really made America the great country that it is: unparalleled innovation and ingenuity. And with Kal Penn’s entertaining dynamism, American ingenuity can be inspiring again.

Big Brain Theory: Pure Genius airs Wednesday, May 1st at 10pm/9 Central on Discovery.
